After 9 years, the South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic has grown into the largest showcase of classic boats in Lake Tahoe. Last summer, the STWBC hosted a whopping 92 boats and featured historic race boats of all classes and years as than 4,000 attendees packed the docks of Tahoe Keys Marina. This year the STWBC with the Chris-Craft theme promises to be even larger.
This July 28 & 29th, the South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic returns to the beautiful setting at the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe. The name Chris-Craft is synonymous with boating….worldwide! For over a century, when someone sees a wooden boat plying the waters or stationary at dock, the cheerful comments are: Wow, look at that Chris-Craft!
With the popularity and rich heritage of Chris Craft, the Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society has chosen to honor this well-known mark by bringing “Chris-Craft Through the Ages” to the 10th annual South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic. The show will feature the world’s oldest known production Chris-Craft – Chris Smith & Son’s hull #7, Godfather from 1922. This historic craft has a 26’ raised deck runabout featuring her original Chris-Craft marinized Curtiss OX-5 V-8 aircraft engine from WWI. The world’s largest display Chris-Craft boats, memorabilia and history from the early days to present will be on display.
Early bird show tickets are currently sale.
